Project: Biannual walking visits to Salvation Army Silver Crest Residence for seniors. Assist Meals on Wheels by making holiday cards (and cheer cards “Have a Nice Day”) for all major holidays that will later be placed on food trays accordingly.

Project: Shoe Box Drive for the Respect Life Ministry for October for “Respect Life” Month. Students will decorate the shoe box and fill with baby items for distribution at the San Gabriel Pregnancy Help Center and Holy Family Adoption Services. Create hand-decorated Prayer Cards for the sick of the parish to be distributed by the Ministry to the Sick and Elderly.

Project: “Adopt” grandparents at Pasadena Village Retirement Home through the course of the year with regular visitations.
5B Mrs. Simone
Project: Assist the Health Ministry by rotating small groups of 10 students to help with the Quarterly Senior Luncheons. Students will provide theme-related favors, escort the seniors, assist at lunch with serving and possibly the entertainment (Bingo).
6A Ms. Lizardi
Project: Assist the Spiritual Care Guild of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles by making baptism gifts. The children will decorate baptism stoles, white taper candles, holy water plastic bottles and certificates. Sixth grade will also coordinate and host ”O Holy Night – A Night of Caroling” (Sing-a-long) in December.
6B Mr. Garcia
Project: Sixth grade will coordinate a clothing drive (socks & underwear) and a coffee bean drive for Union Station. Advertise and implement the collection for Union Station during the month of December. Sixth grade will also coordinate and host “O Holy Night –A Night of Caroling” (Sing-a-long) in December.
7A Mrs. Cohen
Project: Plan, advertise, and implement a school-wide food drive to restock the parish pantry for the Christian Service Ministry’s Annual Thanksgiving Drive. Decorate grocery bags with pictures for the giving of food to the community. Students will rotate through the pantry during the course of the year to maintain organization and stock. Hold additional food drives when needed.
7B Mrs. Cross
Project: Assist the St. Philip Rosary Group by organizing the classes school-wide to meet weekly (Wednesdays) to recite the Rosary. Seventh graders will lead fellow students in the weekly recitation.
8A & 8B Mr. Weyermuller and Mr. Haselton
Project: Coordinate and run a year long Calcutta SEED collection: a school-wide program of collecting spare change from the children and teachers, the funds benefit children in India. Provide the Annual Senior Thanksgiving Luncheon for parish seniors. Place an ad in the parish bulletin advertising the luncheon. Make posters and announcements as needed to advertise the luncheon. Work monthly (the 4th Sunday of each month.) with Life-Teen at Union Station. If necessary assist with wrapping gifts from the Parish’s toy drive. Assist PTO Hospitality with “Meet the Teacher” breakfast, set-up and clean-up.
