Purpose/Mission
Catholic Charities of Los Angeles is committed to manifesting Christ's spirit through collaboration with diverse communities, by providing services to the poor and vulnerable, by promoting human dignity, and by advocating for social justice.  Programs address human suffering and larger social issues, such as poverty, hunger and nutrition, homelessness, immigration, health care, mental health and illiteracy. In the San Gabriel Region, Catholic Charities provides food, shelter, transportation, clothing, utilities assistance, counseling, after school care, education and language assistance, and back-to-school assistance to those most in need.  Catholic Charities San Gabriel Region serves over 40,000 homeless and low-income individuals, the elderly, and the disabled. Over 8,000 of those clients are children.
